What's the best way to make sure I get into the ruling class post-Revolution? We need Communism, but fuck being outside the ruling class in a Communist society.

Join the party, union or revolutionary mass organization, or even better, be among the foundational members therein.
Barring that, working to establish a dictatorship of the proletariat over the bourgeoisie, or working to make the working class the ruling class oughta do it.
Establish economic democracy from the workplace to the national and international union levels with workers' councils.

The the best way would be to join the organization most likely to hold power and being an active member in a positive manner.

What exactly do you mean by communism?
Do you mean the 'communist movement'? Or do you mean a 'communist society', the goal of the communist movement?
A communist society is classless. But a revolution by the communist movement doesn't magically create a communist society, or even a socialist mode of production. The Soviet Union had NEPmen. The PRC has the national bourgeoisie represented on the flag and in their CPC.

OP mentioned "the ruling class in a Communist society", and you correctly pointed out that's a contradiction. That said, it's a great habit to be specific because discussions get confusing when just using the word 'socialism' or 'communism' by themselves, since there are many different valid ways to interpret them. A communist society is classless.
