Im new to socialism, and I want to know more about it, and why is this on the dark web?? oh yeah and im new to the dark web, and want to learn some cybersecurity tips, for safety
This site is also on the clearweb - https://nukechan.net - this is just to cater to people who feel more comfortable with extra anonymity options.
I don't know if you're using I2P or Tor .onions, but each of those services have advice on their homepages for anonymity. There are plenty of resources for cybersecurity tips, but the most important thing is to determine your own threat model: who is a threat to you, what are they capable of, and how can you mitigate that threat? For example, I'll probably never be personally targeted by the NSA, so there's no point in me taking ultra-extreme security measures that would make my life too inconvenient. I do want to prevent random internet trolls from identifying me, and I do want to prevent employers from knowing my political beliefs (it's relevant in my career path), so I take steps to separate any social media from my real identity. From there, I can figure out which protections will help and which are a waste of time or money.

>Im new to socialism,
Welcome! The good news is that there are plenty of learning resources around. If you have the time to read books, they're the best way to learn theory, and meeting people who are actually doing things is the best way to figure out which theory actually works, and to apply it. Try your best to not get caught up in the 'online left'. To paraphrase Marx's note: "Philosophers so far have only interpreted the world, in various ways; however, the point is to change it."

'Socialism' can be a broad school of thought, with the modern idea of it spanning well over a hundred years, so many different people define it many different ways. That said, most socialists will gravitate towards a definition along the lines of social control over the means of production, usually being worker ownership over the means of production. Wikipedia goes into more detail - the site has its many issues, but their 'socialism' article is alright.
In a few words: capitalism results in the economy being controlled by people who own businesses and shares as their main source of income (the owning class, the bourgeoisie), they own the tools that their employees use, but instead, the people who actually perform work for a living (the proletariat) need to own the tools which we use to build society. This has many run-on effects, including how society allocates its resources towards building society rather than towards further enriching those with capital.

I will also say, don't let a particular school of socialism turn you off the whole ideology (there's a world of difference between anarchists, democratic socialists, Trotskyists and Leninists/Stalinists/Maoists/etc.), and don't let a particular political party turn you off. Where I live, there are two communist organizations with the exact same ideology (Cliffite Trotskyism) who act profoundly differently, to the point where other parties will happily collaborate with one of them but not the other.
